I am currently working as an English teacher at [School] in Phoenix. I have been with my current employer for 8 years – a time which has offered exciting opportunities and professional growth.
I do, however, feel that the time has come for me to look for new challenges and take the next step in my career. For this reason, I was delighted to read about the English teacher position at [School].
I’m convinced I’m the right person for the job!
I would like to highlight three main qualities that I believe make me the right person for this position.
The first would be my experience. During my 8 years at [School], I was able to cultivate my interest in advanced English grammar. This, in turn, allowed me to develop new skills in this area – skills that I would like to hone further, as a member of your team at [School]. Furthermore, I feel that my experience in engaging students in extra curriculum activities has contributed significantly to my overall development.
Secondly, I would like to highlight the fact that my educational background meets the requirements you have for the English teacher position. I have a Master’s degree in English and education from Tufts University and I make it a priority to stay up to date on the topics related to my field of work.
Last, but perhaps most importantly, I believe that my personal qualities and abilities are a good match for what you at [School] look for in an employee. The people I have worked with would probably describe me as dependable, pedagogical and empathetic. I have often had use for my sense of order and structure, and I am a person has a lot of energy and tends to get really engaged in the work I do.
I hope that this application has aroused your curiosity. I also hope that I am the right person for you, and would love the chance to meet you so that we can get to know each other better.
Sincerely,
Carol Rivera
