Say hello to your new Account Manager

My name is Andrew James, and I’ve been working as an Account Manager at Spotify in New York City for three years. It’s been a gratifying job where I’ve been in a position to grow over the years, but I am not the type to turn down a new challenge.

When I read about the position as Account Manager at Tesla, it piqued my interest right away. The position, as described, offers exactly the kind of challenge I’ve been looking for.

I’m confident that I can meet, and even exceed, the expectations you have on your new Account Manager.

I would point to three factors in particular that I feel make me the right person for the position as Account Manager.

The first would be my experience. During my three years at Spotify I have acquired a solid foundation of knowledge in leasing and sales – these are skills that I look forward to developing and putting to good use as a member of your team at Tesla.

Secondly, I feel that my educational background makes me well suited for a job at Tesla. I have a Bachelor’s degree in communications from Stanford and I have also completed several sales courses.

Last, but certainly not least, I think that my personal traits and abilities make me the right person for this job. I am a good leader with the ability to suport and motivate my colleagues, and I know that my ability to make connections with others and network effectively has been appreciated by my previous employers.

Furthermore, I am goal-oriented, and service-minded in my professional role.

I hope that this brief presentation of who I am has been of interest to you, and that I will be afforded the chance of an interview with you. I am convinced that I would be able to meet and exceed the Tesla’s expectations of a Account Manager, and I would relish the opportunity to prove it.

Yours truly,

How did we create this cover letter?

The examples in this list are created in our Cover Letter Generator, which you find here. The structure behind these texts is the proven rhetoric disposition that was invented in ancient Greece more than 2000 years ago. They say wine gets better with age, well, that doesn’t really go for the rhetoric disposition. It was brilliant in the beginning, and it is still brilliant.

Its main parts are the following:

a) Introduction
Spark your reader’s curiosity! Write something that makes the recipient remember you and want to continue reading.

b) Background
What is it that made you want you want to do what you do? What are you currently working on? What are you looking for?

c) The statement of the case
Your statement is, of course, that you are the perfect match for the job.

d) Argumentation
This is your time to shine. Describe why you are perfect for the role. Adapt the text to the most important parts of the job described in the ad. Try to find examples of what you’ve done that prove that you meet the specific requirements.

e) The conclusion
You have the opportunity to be creative here – feel free to finish up with a “call-to-action”, that they really should meet with you. It could also be a brief summary or any other creative idea that you come up with, something that makes the recipient want to take the next step with you.
